Breaking the Ice!!! (figurtively of course..)

The second day of the semester, and the first day of the class. Everyone at least once in their lives is nervous to meet new people in a new situation. That's how I was this first day. Usually I feel ridiculous playing ice breakers, making up goofy names for myself like, kangaroo Katharine, or coming up with some adjective that describes me, but I like how we introduced ourselves on our first day of science methods. We have name tags, but we were told to introduce ourselves to someone in our group, and then we had to tell the class about that person. It's different when you have to remember specific details about a person and not just telling the class two lies and a truth. By writing the different beliefs about what science was on the back of our name cards, it really got us engaged in thinking what science is about and our own personal experiences dealing with science in elementary, middle, and high school. After the first day, i've been really noticing things about my environment, such as the weather, and how geographical location affects the weather. I'm really excited to be taking Science Methods; I feel like it will give me the chance to exeriment and look for answers like I did in previous grades.
